I’ve been fortunate these past 2.5 years to work with some incredible colleagues at University of Kansas Libraries. I worked as SharePoint Business Analyst for the libraries (150 staff in 7 branches including an Annex), working to identify solutions using Office 365 to improve communication, collaboration and business processes. I worked to drive adoption and awareness of Office 365 apps and loved everything I was fortunate to be able to do in my time there.

The staff and faculty at KU Libraries strive to accomplish remarkable work together that is vital to the campus, its students and the larger community of Lawrence. KU Libraries boldly leads the way in open access initiatives, research, technology, professional development and, of course, top quality service to students, faculty and the region (here’s to you, ILL!). I had no idea I’d someday end up in library science (or in SharePoint!), and now it’s hard to imagine leaving.

I couldn’t have gotten started without the support of Mike, Mary and Kevin – thank you for inspiring and challenging me, and for believing in my abilities.

I wish the best to the SharePoint Advisory Board (Courtney, Mary & Mike) and SharePoint Champions (Ann, Chris & Kelly) in their next endeavors and am looking forward to keeping in touch.

And to my unit: Craig, Jim, Mike, Shannon, Sharon, Tanay & Terri – thank you for the laughs, the happy hours and your unshakable support and friendship. We truly were a great team and I’m looking forward to hearing where your strengths and interests lead you.

To KU IT, particularly Jason, Yang and Suzie – thank you for your patience and your support along the way. You helped make my job exciting and interesting, and I’ll miss the user group.

And to everyone else – thank you for taking chances on new ideas and being the creative, open-minded people you are. Your work inspired my work, and I’m grateful to have met you and to have had the honor of working on awesome projects with you.

I’m so proud of KU Libraries, the risks they take and the values they hold. The passion in their work, and their focus on diversity, equity & inclusion is forever-inspiring. I’ll always be a Jayhawk at heart.

So as one story ends, another begins. I am excited to share I will start as SharePoint Systems Engineer at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in January. It is my first position in the healthcare industry. I’ll be going from 150 colleagues to 1,700 and can’t wait to get started meeting them all. I’m happy for the things I can continue doing there, and for all the unknown things yet to come.

I will be able to continue blogging, speaking and playing an active role in the SharePoint community, and am looking forward to any new skills and experience this new position will bring to my material as well as how my future engagements and events will, in turn, inform my work at LMH.

I’m grateful for the new opportunity, grateful for KU Libraries helping me get here, and am looking forward with enthusiasm
