If you’ve ever found yourself needing to clean up an old or unused plan in Microsoft Planner, you’ve probably noticed it’s not as intuitive as we’d like. Fortunately, deleting a plan is a pretty simple process once you know where to look—though there are a couple of important things to keep in mind.
First and foremost, only the owner of the plan, or more specifically the owner of the group or team to which the plan belongs, can delete it. If you’re just a member, you can choose to leave the plan, but this only removes you from the group or team (and, therefore, the plan); it won’t delete the plan itself. To delete a plan, head to the Planner hub at https://planner.cloud.microsoft/, find the plan you want to remove, click the three-dot (ellipsis) menu, and go to plan settings. There, you’ll see the option to delete the plan. Remember, deleting a plan is permanent, and all tasks and data within it will be lost—so make sure it’s what you really want to do before proceeding!
