Back in the MVP Fold: Celebrating My Return to the Microsoft MVP Program

1–2 minutes

I’m pleased to share that I’ve been re-awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award in the area of Microsoft 365! This marks my sixth year in the program.

This recognition is especially meaningful because, as many of you know, I had to step away from the MVP program less than a year ago due to having joined the federal government workforce. At the time, public sector employees were ineligible for the award so I couldn’t seek renewal. However, Microsoft has since updated its eligibility criteria to now include public sector professionals—provided they share a letter of acknowledgment with their employer. This welcome change allows me (and others in similar roles) to participate in one of the most passionate, vibrant communities in tech once again.

Even during my time outside the program, I never stopped contributing. Whether through blog posts, videos, books, or speaking engagements at conferences and user groups, I’ve remained deeply committed to supporting, participating in, and educating the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform communities.

Being re-awarded this title is an honor—and a responsibility. MVPs receive unique benefits that help us better serve the community, including:

  • Early access to Microsoft product developments
  • Direct collaboration opportunities with Microsoft product teams
  • A fully-loaded Microsoft 365 developer tenant
  • Participation in NDA-protected discussions
  • An invitation to the annual Microsoft MVP Global Summit, a premier event featuring in-depth technical sessions and feedback opportunities with Microsoft product groups and leaders

I’m especially looking forward to upcoming community engagements like The Microsoft 365 Community Conference in Las Vegas (May 2025) where I’ll present “Microsoft OneNote vs Loop: Choosing the Best Tool for Collaborative Note-Taking,” and TechCon 365 Seattle (June 2025) and TechCon 365 Atlanta (August 2025).

Thank you to everyone who has supported and collaborated with me on this journey, and to each of you who reached out to let me know when eligibility criteria changed. Your kindness and thoughtfulness means so much. I’m energized and ready to keep contributing—now with the added momentum and access the MVP program provides.

Let’s go!
